It works only for Datacenter because you it is selected as Target.
If it is possible you should use more general target (includes: all interesting object) or create multiple alarms for different objects.

It is probably not a solution but check if you have dmidecode package installed. And try again.
I've been battling with installing ESXi 6.7 U3 Dell R730xd image for a few hours now on a server I'm building for a customer. I've used Gparted to recreate the partition table and tried other Chipfancier SLC USB drives (I have a few). I have no problem installing on a regular Sandisk Cruzer 16GB. Attached is a screenshot of the error message I'm getting currently. Apparently I can't write to the disk. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?
Hello,
Why is VMWare dropping the one file convenient OVA export for the multi files inferior OVF export?
Hi,
Can someone please shed some light and explain why certain VM's when very busy peak at almost 10% RDY even though there is no CPU over provisioning on the host.
I expect the host to provide CPU time to the VM almost instantly when requested in above scenario irrespective of how busy the VM is.
I would like to technically understand why this happens and what measures should be taken please?
Thanks
How many cpus are the vms you are referring to?
How big are the hosts?
Whats the biggest vm you have?
I'm using Workstation 15.5 on a Windows 10 computer.
I expanded my VM disk so I have the following:
200MB (EFI)
79.22GB (System)
464MB (OEM)
50GB (Unallocated)
I want to swap the 464MB and 50GB partitions and expand the 79GB partition by 50GB. Ho do I do it?
16 vCPU VMs
44 Physical CPU
Biggest VM has 16 vCPU
Total vCPU = pCPU
The % ready is for the entire vm, are you at one vm, then you want to divide that number by 16 which is small.
Something I noticed about Fusion after the upgrade to Catalina was that Fusion was unchecked by default on "Full Disk Access" under Security & Privacy / Privacy. Checking it does not help, but also Mac Security should be prompting to all or deny access to folders you are trying to share with the Guest OS. Just another clue until VMWare decides to fix this.
HI,
This article potentially have very similar issue as "vcd 9.7 installation issues", however after following all the steps listed in latter article I still experience issues with my installation.
In a nutshell, I tried to install ova appliance based on available resources online and listed all steps below:
I can access https://vcd ip:5480, but below issue appears
No nodes found in cluster, this likely means PostgreSQL is not running on this node. Consult the management UI from another node where PostgreSQL is running. Otherwise, check /opt/vmware/var/log/vcd/vcd_ova_ui_app.log if you think this is an error.
When I try to SSH to vcd with root details I can't access any files or logs as access denied, redeployment doesn't help.
I would appreciate any help as I can't find a way forward.
So always need to divide with number of vCPU and check that lower than 5% ?
Good to know if so as do not think this is normally stated clearly enough unless you can refer me to any documentation
btw am using esxtop and V to check this metric
We have Dell PE R730 servers in a cluster. We upgraded to Vmware 6.7U3 and got PSOD on three servers. I opened a case with VMware support and tech suspects the gfle3 driver is causing the PSOD and asked me to engage with Dell whether they have any latest firmware which fixes the issue. The tech suggested reverting to the bnx2 driver might help. He was not sure whether bnx2 will help.
Our Dell PE R730 Esxi hosts 6.7U3 is crashing with PSOD. We are using Qlogic 57810 10 GbE nic cards. It can not be a hardware issue since it is happening on three servers after the upgrade. Anyone had an issue?
We did use Dell Vmware.iso for upgrades.
Hi there.
I recently got hired for a new position where one of my first tasks is to migrate some 20 servers remaining on an ESXi environment, over to our Hyper-V cluster.
The VMs are of different guest OS from Windows 2008 - Windows 2016, over to different Linux distros.
I'm aware of Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter, but I was told that this is not an option, because my boss claims it creates too much down time for the customers, as they cannot use the system during the conversion.
So I'm left with - for now - an option of exporting backups from Nakivo Replication & Backup to VHDX files, which I'm trying to attach on Hyper-V with more or less luck.
Some VMs comes up and runs without any problems, while others wont boot at all.
The problem seems to be either that the VMs in question has MBR disks, and also is installed with the BIOS option rather than EFI. This obviously makes a huge difference as far as I can see from my tests and analyzis.
The funny thing is, that for instance a Windows Server 2012, will boot up fine if I choose to create it as a Gen1 VM on Hyper-V, but will fail if I set it up as Gen2 VM.
Some of the servers working is setup as Gen2, and they have GPT disks and are setup with EFI as boot loader.
My question is, now when I'm in this situation where I cannot use a tool which is recommended everywhere for a task like this. Which options do I have for making this work?
I have messed around with some disk conversion using the cmdlet from MVMC, and have used different tools to try and convert some of the disks, but the servers wont boot even though the disks are converted.
Even though the servers boot up as Gen1 VMs, it's a requirement from my boss, that they are setup as Gen2 VMs because of the features with generation 2 VMs like hot expand and performance.
Any ideas?
Hi,
See this post.
https://www.vgemba.net/vmware/Workstation-15.5-Install-Error/
Btw, as your error is different.. perhaps it is trying to first run the uninstaller? In that case try and uninstall the current version manually via the Add/Remove software screen.
You probably have to select "Change" if the "Uninstall" option is missing there. After that there should be an option to uninstall.

Do you have a PSOD screenshot or vmkernel-zdump?????
Re-direct the output of the below command to a text file and attach it to the thread:
[root@esxi-1:/tmp] esxcfg-info -a > /tmp/info.txt
I've seen such issues before.
Usually adding Identity Source as "AD as an LDAP server" helps. Let me know if this helps.
